Penn State University has developed a BIM Project Execution Planning Guide as a part of the buildingSMART alliance (bSa) Project.  Colleen will explain how and why this guide was developed, how it is being used and how you can use it to deliver better Revit projects.

 
7:00 - 7:30 Owner BIM Deliverable Requirements – Jesse Whalen- Balfour Beatty Construction

Acting as a CM, Balfour Beatty must comply with the Owner’s very descriptive BIM deliverable requirements.  Jesse will show and discuss the issues faced by a contractor using Revit to create deliverables in a Revit model.

 
7:30 - 8:00 Documenting Existing Conditions with 3D Laser-scanning Technology - Lou Bush, Intelisum / Michael Tardif, Jeremy Thibodeau, & Daniel Hall, Grunley Construction

Documenting existing conditions for an historic renovation is a tall order.  Add the requirement of having to carefully phase the renovation while the building is occupied and you need Revit, lasers, and 3D scanning.  Lou Bush, Michael Tardif, Jeremy Thibodeau, and Daniel Hall will explain how they used a variety of technology tools to accomplish a phased renovation project in an historic U.S. cabinet department headquarters building.
